Monomukhi Dokra Brass Bracelet
Description
Tracing its roots to the primitive metal-casting heritage of rural Bengal, the Monomukhi Bracelet translates traditional folk line-work into sculptural metal. The design features a continuous, vertical flow of mirrored spiral vortices, each crowned with a delicate, reverse-curled tendril reminiscent of traditional Alpona floor art or young fern fronds. Skilled artisans hand-roll pure beeswax threads over a clay base to form the fluid concentric spirals, encasing the sculpture in alluvial mud before firing it in an open pit kiln where molten brass takes the wax’s place. Finished with a warm satin luster, the open-cuff band offers flexible contouring for a seamless wrist fit. A versatile, heritage piece that pairs effortlessly with handspun khadi, linen saris, or understated fusion wear.
