Chouko-Mudra Dokra Brass Stud / Drop Earrings
Description
Translating primitive geometry into wearable folklore, the Chouko-Mudra Earrings celebrate Bengal’s ancient cire-perdue (lost-wax) metalcraft. The design forms a balanced dialogue between cosmic circles and grounded lines: a concentric sun-spiral post sits atop a suspended square labyrinth, bound by fine wire coil detailing. Rural artisans painstakingly shape each geometric contour and coil wrap by hand using flexible beeswax threads laid over an alluvial clay core. Fired in open earthen pit kilns, the lost wax is replaced by molten brass alloy, giving every piece the distinctive organic texture, warm antique-gold patina, and subtle variations authentic to genuine Dokra art. Finished with traditional ear posts and backings, these lightweight statement earrings transition effortlessly from everyday linen kurtas and handloom cottons to festive silk drapes.
